CENTCOM, partner forces carry out strikes against ISIS in Syria
The operation forms part of a broader campaign launched in December under direct orders from President Donald Trump, following a deadly attack earlier that month in Palmyra. That assault by the terrorist group results in the deaths of two American soldiers and a civilian interpreter supporting US forces.
The latest strikes are described as a decisive move to eliminate extremist threats, protect American personnel, and block future attacks against both US and allied forces operating in the region.
Officials emphasize that the campaign is focused on dismantling terrorist networks and preventing the re-emergence of organized attacks.
"U.S. and coalition forces remain resolute in pursuing terrorists who seek to harm the United States.
"Our message remains strong: if you harm our warfighters, we will find you and kill you anywhere in the world, no matter how hard you try to evade justice," it said.
